00/hr Position Summary Information Hours per week 2-4 hours Days Worked Flexible Hours/Shift worked Flexible Posting Detail Information Job Summary/Basic Function The National Science Foundation Scholarships in STEM program is hiring peer mentors to support students for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Required Qualifications Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Act as a role model for their mentee.
Ability to use Microsoft Teams.
Willingness to participate in social activities with their mentee.
Be major/minor in a discipline within the College of Science and Technology.
Be comfortable socializing and engaging with other people.
Preferred QualificationsJob Duties Task may included but are not limited to:
Attending Peer Mentor training (one per year) Checking in with your mentee weekly Checking in with the administrator of the NSF SSTEM grant monthly Attending Community Building Retention Activities with your mentee (three per semester - tentatively on Tuesday evenings) Engaging with your mentee academically Working Conditions and Physical Effort Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to stay organized and meet deadlines.
